Jackson Citizen Patriot: obtuse?

According to this editorial's reasoning, opposing the commercialization and private ownership of water, the source of life, is just like opposing dancing, necking and inter-racial dating.

Maybe that's why the Jackson Citizen Patriot has not won many Pulitzers.

We agree there are practical reasons for someone to avoid bottled water...

But immoral? Not too long ago, many churches attached the same stigma to "picture shows," television (the "devil's box"), "bobbed" hair, long hair, rings and jewelry, dancing, necking, short skirts, card games, mixed bathing, inter-racial dating, skinny dipping, rock music, etc. Arguably any of these could lead one into the vicinity of fleshly temptations. But what's the moral fine line between ingesting bottled water and tap water?

haha, thank you very much for looking into the issue a little more deeply than that media outlet did. Bottled water companies are taking something essential to life and convincing us that their water is the only good water. A Canadian Scientist called David Suzuki went across Canada last month to encourage people vote in Canada's next election for the environment. At every stop he demanded a glass of local water and refused any bottled water. In Al Gore's book An Inconvenient Truth (an obvious replica of his movie) he has tips in the back on how to fight climate change in small steps and one method was to stop purchasing bottled water. The effects of these companies goes beyond the privatization. They are damaging the environment as well.
