"The multi-billion dollar bottled water industry, which has major operations in Michigan, has gone to great lengths to market its product as clean, healthy and superior to other water. But at a congressional hearing led by U.S. Rep. Bart Stupak of Menominee earlier this week, a representative for the Government Accountability Office confirmed what water activists have been saying for years: Bottled water has less oversight than water from municipal systems."

Nice article.
I go to great lengths to set a good example. My SIGG bottle in its neoprene jacket is ALWAYS with me. Now many of my coworkers have obtained their own signature bottles as well. I have known about the problems with bottled-water oversight and other issues for years. People just like to get sold a product, I guess (ok, right after I talked about how I bought my SIGG bottle, but that is reusable, and I reuse it--filled multiple times with tap water every day).
