Sen. John McCain promised this afternoon that as president he would
not allow diversion of Great Lakes water to parched areas of the
country and would work with Detroit carmakers to develop new
technologies to lessen the nation's dependence on foreign oils.
"I would not take one drop of water," the Arizona senator told about 1,000 attendees at the Americans for Prosperity Summit at the Laurel Manor in Livonia. "That water belongs to the State of Michigan and the surrounding states."
