MN conservation giant gone

There are scores of these men and women across the Great Lakes region. Not exactly household names, but professionals and volunteers who have devoted their lives to passing on something better to those who come after. Roger Holmes made an enormous contribution to Minnesota. He lived long enough to attend the dedication of a wildlife management area named in his honor and to see the fulfillment of a long time dream -- voter approval of dedicated funding for conservation in the November 4 election. He will be missed.
